Pickleball Warehouse in Pittsburgh Prides Itself on an Open Play Model Every Day

The newly opened Pickleball Warehouse in Pittsburgh is based on the idea of the fun, spontaneity and fellowship of open play. Since July 2024, Pickleball Warehouse has been Pittsburgh’s largest indoor pickleball facility with two private courts and 17 courts dedicated to open play.

Husband and wife Bryan Wigginton and Alexa Gervasi saw a gap in the pickleball market with a lack of indoor playing space. With that observation, the idea for Pickleball Warehouse started to form. Nearly six months into the open play business model they are having a great time and their players seem to feel the same way.

Delco Dills’ Fiscal Sponsor

Founded by several members of the Delaware County community, Delco Dills Pickleball Club in Wallingford, Pennsylvania seeks to be a community-forward organization in an area underserved in the pickleball space. Liz Gallard and Kathy Dolphin are two of the founding members of Delco Dills and currently serve as board members for the club. They were eager to share their experience as a pickleball club working with a fiscal sponsor toward their goal of making the game more accessible for players of all skill and athletic abilities. Gallard is quick to note that while other states, and even areas not too far away such as the Jersey Shore, are writhe with pickleball courts and amenities, the Delaware County area is severely lacking in local resources. Delco Dills is working to address this gap and are on a mission to “raise funds to build properly surfaced pickleball courts in our community,” according to their website.
