How West Coast Pickleball Built a Thriving Business Through Community Minded Marketing

As with any new club, the founders of West Coast Pickleball in Yorba Linda, California, knew that to get players in the door, they first had to be aware that the club existed. To help spread the word, Club Director James Byun utilized a variety of marketing tactics with minimal costs.

When the club opened in December of 2024, Jason and his co-workers went to the streets to find pickleball players where they already were. As the first indoor pickleball facility in Orange County, they had something unique to offer players and were eager to tell the community about their facility.

With an eye on the local market, West Coast Pickleball provided an article on the newly opened club to a neighborhood magazine that is distributed to 15,000 homes. They also went one step further to ensure nearby players were aware of the newly built six-court facility in the area.

What do you get when you cross an entrepreneur and the fastest-growing sport in the United States? The Cleveland Pickleball Center! I just knew right from the get-go that I wanted to do something.”

Southcoast Players Come for the Pickleball and Stay for the Friendships

The people at Southcoast pickleball are all about community. Co-owner Adam Rogers calls the Southcoast a “community-centric” club. Rogers remarks, “We are not a membership-based club.” Instead, the folks at Southcoast rely on strong programming and hospitality to bring in regular attendees. For Southcoast, hospitality and community bring people back to the facility, not necessarily memberships.

How Pickleballerz is Adapting to Chantilly’s Pickleball Boom

Solitaire, skiing, knitting – some things are just fine to do as a single pringle. Others, like pickleball, are reliant on another person. But what does a single player do with a paddle but no partner? Pickleballerz in Chantilly, Virginia wondered the same thing. And in the spirit of adaptation and innovation, they came up with a solution.

Pickleballerz was the first indoor facility in Virginia and essentially the entire East Coast when it opened in 2019. It is now home to nearly 600 members who enjoy a pro shop, a fully stocked bar area and most importantly its six fully dedicated pickleball courts with hard surfaces and permanent nets.
