Diversifying Revenue Streams at Smash Park

Diversifying revenue streams has been a strategic goal for Smash Park, driven by a desire to ensure long-term sustainability. Not only is it a vibrant hub for sports and entertainment, it is an establishment that mitigates risks associated with overreliance on memberships and offers new avenues for customer engagement. Monty Lockyear, Founder and CEO of Smash Park says, “By offering a variety of services and experiences, we can appeal to a broader audience and create multiple touchpoints for customer engagement.”

Smash Park has an array of revenue streams that set it apart from traditional clubs. From axe throwing to a full arcade, the venue offers an eclectic mix of activities to cater to varied interests. Private events, corporate gatherings, and birthday parties find a unique home at Smash Park, complemented by a full-service catering menu to enhance any occasion.

Food and beverage sales further bolster the venue’s revenue, with a full-service bar and restaurant. Additionally, branded merchandise and equipment sales contribute to the bottom line while serving as tangible reminders of the Smash Park experience.

While it’s vital for Smash Park to have options for every guest, Lockyear explains, “One of the main challenges we faced was ensuring that each new revenue stream aligned with our core values and brand identity. It required careful planning and execution to integrate these offerings seamlessly without diluting the customer experience.” Additionally, managing a diverse set of services demands a higher level of operational efficiency and coordination, which can be challenging but ultimately rewarding.

Currently, Smash Park does not offer pickleball memberships. However, Lockyear states “We are excited to announce that we will be launching a pickleball membership program this Summer.” The membership offers a reduced rate on pickleball court bookings, the option to reserve courts three weeks ahead (as opposed to the standard two weeks), complimentary open play on weekday mornings, and an array of additional perks and benefits aimed at enriching the member’s playing experience.

Smash Park’s current offerings focus on providing a variety of pickleball clinics and events that cater to players of all skill levels and include beginner clinics, child-parent clinics, leagues, and tournaments segmented by expertise level, and private events. Lockyear says, “This allows us to create an inclusive and flexible environment for our pickleball community.” There are both indoor and outdoor courts available, as well as trained and specialized on-site pickleball coaches.

Looking ahead, Smash Park has ambitious plans to expand further and optimize its revenue streams. Specialized clinics and leagues tailored to niche interests within the pickleball community are on the horizon, alongside strategic partnerships with local businesses and organizations. Additionally, an enhanced online presence and e-commerce capabilities will offer greater convenience to customers while widening the establishment’s reach.

Smash Park’s strategic diversification of revenue streams has positioned it as a vibrant hub for sports and entertainment, ensuring long-term sustainability and risk mitigation. By offering an eclectic mix of activities, along with food and beverage sales and branded merchandise, Smash Park appeals to a broad audience and enhances customer engagement. It continues to innovate and optimize its offerings, securing its place as a forward-thinking and resilient establishment.
